Iranian-American Jewish Federation
Sam Kermanian is the co-founder and Managing Director of Parklane Investments, a real estate advisory group established in January of 1981.
Mr. Kermanian has a solid foundation in communal life and has been an active member and volunteer in the community since an early age, involved with the Iranian Student Organization in Haifa Israel more than 40 years ago, founding the Iranian Jewish Youth Organization of New York in 1978 and being the youngest member of a delegation of Iranian American Jews to the White House in 1980.
In addition to serving on the board and various committees of the Iranian-American Jewish Federation (IAJF), including as its Secretary General for fifteen years, during the past 40 years Mr. Kermanian has served on the boards of and/or held various positions in numerous other community and charitable organizations, including, the Jewish Federation Council of Greater Los Angeles, Eish Ha-Torah, the Jewish Family Service, the American Jewish Committee, the Magbit Foundation and Sinai Temple Men’s Club. In his position at the IAJF Mr. Kermanian was responsible for relations with various branches of the United States government on behalf of the Iranian-American Jewish community. He currently serves as senior advisor to the IAJF.
Mr. Kermanian’s activities in the Community have been widely recognized by members of both political parties and have earned him the following additional honors:
Recognition as one of the top 20 leaders of LA Jewish Community under 40 years old and one of the 100 most effective Jewish Leaders in Los Angeles by the Los Angeles Jewish Journal.
Mr. Kermanian has received the Ettefagh High School Alumni Award, the Western Region Federation of Jewish Men’s Clubs’ Distinguished Service Award, the National Republican Congressional Committee’s Business Advisory Council Businessman of the Year Award and was named Man of the Year by the Iranian Jewish Women’s Organization.
Mr. Kermanian completed his high school education in Iran, obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the Technion in Haifa, Israel, and Masters of Science degrees in Management and in Civil Engineering from the Polytechnic Institute of New York.
